Carlos Fuenmayor (born May 1977) is a self-taught visual artist best known as a caricaturist, painter, and street artist. His most relevant pieces bring together Pop Art, Cubism and Abstract Art movements, drawn and painted with a digital tablet, colored pencils, markers, acrylics and watercolors.[1]. Fuenmayor finds inspiration in trending themes and current events relevant to the western culture, which he deconstructs to explore the communication limits of abstraction within familiar contexts.
Early life and professional career[edit]
Carlos Fuenmayor was born in Maracaibo, Venezuela on May 23rd, 1977, but he didn’t start his career until after moving to the United States in 2008. He began his journey as a humble caricature artist at The Universal Resort in Orlando, Florida in 2009. His passion for art drove him to start learning and experimenting with different techniques and mediums until he found his own way to transmit his ideas through his artwork.
Later in 2014, he founded Fuenmayor ART as the brand identity for his work and entrepreneurial efforts, where he crafts art for his commercial activities in the retail industry, as well as in the digital space.
As he progressed in the art space, he built a reputation and gained public limelight over some of the work he has done in Miami, Florida such as Murals[2] in the Wynwood Art District (Wynwood neighborhood of Miami, Florida), festivals, and his involvement with studios such as Studio 18[1] and the South Florida Art Gallery[3]
In 2022, he got involved in blockchain ventures to promote and sell his art with the hopes of making an impact, both in the real world, and the virtual ones with lower carbon footprint NFT collections.
