Carlos Ramos Blanco (born 31 August 1994) is a Spanish footballer who played for Atlético Madrid as a midfielder in the mid-2010s.
Career
Early career
Born on 31 August 1994 in Zamora, Ramos began his career in the youth ranks of San Lázaro, a modest club, where he stayed until 2005, aged 11, when he signed for the Zamora CF reserve team. In 2010, at the age of 16, he was promoted to the youth team, and later that year, he made his debut with the club's first team, then in the Segunda División B.[citation needed]
Atlético Madrid
During the summer of 2012, Ramos was signed by Atlético Madrid, where he first played at the U19 B team, but soon climbed up the ranks through the club's C and B team until he finally convinced Diego Simeone to join the first team during the 2013–14 pre-season. However, he then had to wait a few months before finally making his first-team debut on 18 December 2013, in a Copa del Rey match against UE Sant Andreu, playing 71 minutes as his side won 2–1.[1] He then spent the rest of the season with the second team.
In the 2014–15 season, Ramos was once again called up to the first team for an early round of the Copa del Rey, playing five minutes of the second leg, which ended in a 2–2 draw with CE L'Hospitalet; he then returned to the second team until the end of the season.[2]
Later career
For the 2015–16, Ramos was loaned to CD Guijuelo, then in the Segunda División B.[3][4] In 2018, he returned to his hometown club Zamora, with whom he played four years, until 2022, achieving promotion to Segunda División B in 2019, and later to the Primera División RFEF in 2024.[5]
On 29 June 2022, Ramos signed for Atlético Baleares, and a few months later, on 17 January 2023, he joined Logroñés, both from the Primera División RFEF.[6][7]
