On February 4, 2008, the channel Jacknjellify was created.[1] Today, it houses the animated web series Battle for Dream Island (often shortened to BFDI), which premiered on January 1st, 2010.[2] The show features twenty characters competing for an island[3] in an environment reminiscent of reality TV.

There are a total of 25 episodes in the first season, which encompasses the first elimination game and concludes with a “last-man-standing” finale. Several seasons have been produced to continue the show.[citation needed]

BFDI's first book, Battle for Dream Island: Official Character Guide, was published on August 29th, 2019 by Scholastic.[4] In 2016, BFDI’s Yoylecake was one of 4 foods that made it into the New York Comic Con during the Battle of the Fantasy Foods.[5][6] In 2021, BFDI won the independent Cartoon Crave Awards.[7]
