Catheon Gaming is popularizing the anime franchise AOTU World into an NFT-based game called Aotuverse. It is an integrated blockchain entertainment company that provides end-to-end blockchain games and digital assets publishing services, a specialized launchpad marketplace, and distribution channels to its entertainment and gaming portfolio.
History
Catheon Gaming started in September 2021 in Sydney, Australia, founded by William Wu. The company’s initial project, SolChicks, broke the IDO world record with over 30 launchpad participants and over 300 investors.[1] The project also caused the Solana network to crash[2] during their token launch period in December 2021.
In December 2021, the company expanded its portfolio by partnering with Korean artist agency, HUMAP, on a K-pop “Sing-to-earn” game, Seoul Stars.[3]
The company also announced partnerships on various projects including Voyage in Paradise, Aotuverse[4][5] and Onigiri in 2022.
Team
Catheon Gaming has a total of over 240 employees across 37 different countries. The company’s senior management includes William Wu (Co-CEO), Mark Aubrey (Co-CEO) effective July 2022, Lewis Grafton (COO) and Jun Lee (Game Development Lead). [6]
The company’s board of advisors comprises gaming and entertainment industry veterans from Activision Blizzard, Sony Interactive Entertainment, Viacom, King Digital and Louis Vuitton.[7]
Mark was previously Managing Director and Head of Asia Pacific for Activision Blizzard, responsible for managing all verticals of the Activision Publishing and Blizzard Entertainment businesses across the Asia-Pacific region. He managed a regional team of over 300 employees across four offices, currently generating over $450M in annual revenue. He had full P&L responsibility with oversight of the combined physical and digital operations across Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, South-East Asia, and India.
