Champagne is the fifth studio EP from the American rock group My Brightest Diamond.

Content[edit]

The five-track EP was released as a digital download with Asthmatic Kitty, on 27 April 2018.[1] It contains the song "Champagne," along with two remixes by Monty Luke and Valley Hush, which are more electro-sounding, and a version sung in French, and the song "A Million Pearls."[2] Both songs appear on the full-length album A Million and One. A vinyl pressing of "Champagne" and "Another Chance" was also released in 2018. It was produced by Shara Nova, with additional production by The Twilite Tone, mixing by Andrew Scheps, and mastering by Helge Sten at Audio Virus Lab. The song "Champagne" was inspired by the May Angelou poem, Still I Rise.[3]

WCPO calls the EP "synthy-layered goodness [with] Nova's voice tak[ing] center stage, powerful and finely tuned." They call the title-track "upbeat and bright," and say the song "A Million Pearls" has an "emotive, introspective vibe, perfectly supported by Nova's ethereal crooning."[4]
