Charles "Buddy" Hearn

Charles "Buddy" Hearn was a long-time American high school football coach in the State of Alabama from the early 1950's until his retirement in 1983. He was a graduate of Crossville High School where he would later serve as head coach.[1] He was born on October 4, 1930 and died on July 9, 2017.[2] He was the football team captain as a Senior at Howard College where one of his teammates was future Florida State University head coach Bobby Bowden. During his 32 years as a head coach and teacher he compiled a record of 122-112-9[3] at Valley Head, Crossville High School, Guntersville, Erwin, Hueytown[4], Etowah and Tarrant High School where in 1971 his team won the 3A State Championship.[5]
