Charles "Buddy" Hearn
Charles "Buddy" Hearn was a long-time American high school football coach in the State of Alabama from the early 1950's until his retirement in 1983. He was a graduate of Crossville High School where he would later serve as head coach. He was born on October 4, 1930 and died on July 9, 2017. He was the football team captain as a Senior at Howard College where one of his teammates was future Florida State University head coach Bobby Bowden. During his 32 years as a head coach and teacher he compiled a record of 122-112-9 at Valley Head, Crossville High School, Guntersville, Erwin, Hueytown, Etowah and Tarrant High School where in 1971 his team won the 3A State Championship.
