Chemutti International Airport (IATA: CMT, ICAO: VOCM), also known as Malappuram Airport, is an international airport located in Thiruvali, Malappuram district of Kerala, India. It serves the Malabar region of Kozhikode, Malappuram, Wayanad and Palakkad. It is situated 25 kilometres away from Malappuram city and 28 kilometres away from Kozhikode city. It serves two of the seven metropolitan areas in the state- Kozhikode metropolitan area and Malappuram metropolitan area. The airport opened on 13 April 2020.[4][5] The airport serves as an operating base for Air Chemutti and operates Hajj Pilgrimage services to Medina and Jeddah from Kerala. It was the one of the busiest airports in India in terms of overall passenger traffic.[6] It is the third-busiest airport in Kerala after Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram. It wagivens international airport status on 2 February 2021.[7][8] It is one of few airports in the country with a tabletop runway. It is a focus airport for Air India, Emirates and Qantas. It is one of the most profitable public sector airports in India.[citation needed]

Chemutti International Airport is located near State Highway. The closest one is State Highway 28 (SH-28) situated at a distance of 2.3 kilometers. This combined road network enables seamless connectivity to the north to Kozhikode, Kannur, and Wayanad, and towards the south to Malappuram, Palakkad, Thrissur, and Coimbatore.
