Summary[edit]

It is the story of a mother, Nupur Joshi and her daughter, Payal Joshi(Chikoo). When young, Chikoo gets kidnapped which leads to Nupur getting separated from her. For years, Chikoo is raised by a female-kidnapper. Circumstances soon lead to Nupur and Chikoo once again meeting after several years. From then, the story is completely based on how Chikoo once again accepts Nupur in her life.

Meri Maa was adapted from Star Jalsha's Bengali show Maa....Tomay Chara Ghum Ashena in December 2011 on Life OK. But due to low viewership, the show was cancelled in April 2012. In 2021, producer Gul Khan from 4 Lions Films planned a second remake to the original show for StarPlus, the show premiered on 6th September 2021.
