Chris DeLorenzo (born February 9, 1995 in Basking Ridge, New Jersey) is an American photographer and director currently based in California. He photographs and directs automative, sport, lifestyle, surf, and travel subjects worldwide. Inspired by the human soul, nature, and the sea[1], his work is diverse in subject, yet maintains a timeless and unique treatment of both color and composition throughout. He credits his young success to his intense passion for creating art, support from his family, and persistence. [2]

DeLorenzo specializes in photographing and directing automative shoots, specifically off-road, high speed, and all-terrain vehicles. He has also exhibited his personal, fine art work focusing on natural subjects[2] around the United States. In 2017, DeLorenzo debuted "Breath of Disruption" a fine art, underwater photography exhibition photographed in the Southern California Pacific Ocean. [2]

Education[edit]

As a child, Chris DeLorenzo was fascinated with creating and began drawing at a young age. At 10 years old, after stealing his mother's camera, DeLorenzo became fascinated with photography and dedicated his life to the art from that point on.[3] Chris DeLorenzo graduated from Ridge High School in 2013. Shortly after graduation, he moved to Los Angeles, CA to further his photography career. He attended classes for a semester at Santa Monica College, but dropped out after receiving an internship and assistantship with renown photographer and surfer Steven Lippman. [4]

DeLorenzo credits much of his early success to his choice of not continuing with formal education, but instead gaining relevant experience from his internship.

Career[edit]

After a year working under Steven Lippman, DeLorenzo left to begin working on his own as a photographer for commercial and editorial shoots. In a short time, DeLorenzo has gained clients like Toyota, Oribe, Gear Patrol, Reef, Samsung, Bell, Giro, and many more. [5] His professional and personal work has taken him on many assignments spanning the globe.
