Chris McQueen is an American jazz guitarist from Austin, Texas. Born in Birmingham, Alabama, McQueen has been playing, writing, and recording music since 1994.[1] McQueen studied jazz at the University of North Texas with Fred Hamilton, playing and writing for UNT’s One O’Clock Lab Band.[2]
McQueen plays in 3-time Grammy winning fusion band Snarky Puppy,[3][4] as well as the gritty instrumental quartet Forq[5][6][7] and world music group Bokanté.[8][9] He has been featured in several rock musicals over the last decade,[10] most recently David Bowie’s Lazarus (musical) at New York Theatre Workshop [11] and The Rocky Horror Show at Dallas Theater Center. [12] He has also worked as sideman for Lizz Wright, Magda Giannikou, Lucy Woodward, Nikka Costa, Myron Butler & Levi, Alejandro Escovedo, and other artists in Texas and New York.[13][14]

McQueen has also designed and built two music-focused mobile apps: Guitar Note Atlas, an app for iOS and Android to help guitar and bass students learn the fretboard; and Set App, an interactive setlist for iOS.[15][16]
