Chris Westphal is an American-born entrepreneur, computer/data scientist, and is the author of several books on data mining, visualization, and pattern discovery. He was the co-founder and CEO of data-mining software company Visual Analytics before its sale to Raytheon Company[1] in 2013. While at Visual Analytics he worked with federal and state/local law enforcement, all major intelligence agencies, the Department of Defense, civilian agencies, international Financial Intelligence Units (FIUs), and large corporations.

Their flagship platform, VisuaLinks, was used in Reveal, a data-mining system that the Internal Revenue Service began building in 2002 to better organize and share sensitive financial information.[2] VisuaLinks was deployed to over 40 countries, primarily within government organizations supporting support law enforcement, intelligence activity, detecting fraud, or combating financial crimes and money laundering operations.

While at Visual Analytics, he garnered industry recognition and accolades, including Deloitte's Technology Fast 50 (Maryland), Maryland's International Leadership Award (2003),[3] and Maryland Muscle Award,[4] and was named a finalist for the Ernst and Young Maryland Entrepreneur of the Year (2003).

Mr Westphal is currently the Chief Analytics Officer [5] at DataWalk, Inc. where he continues to innovate on user-centric analytical products using advanced entity-based visualization.
