Clark Kent, also known by his public persona Superman or birth name Kal-El, is a fictional character in the Arrowverse television franchise and the male lead in the series Superman & Lois, having also appeared as a supporting character in Supergirl and other various crossover events in the franchise. He is based on the DC Comics superhero of the same name and is portrayed by Tyler Hoechlin.
Originally a journalist for the Daily Planet in Metropolis in his early days moonlighting as Superman, Clark falls in love with and marries his colleague Lois Lane, and also helps his cousin and Kara Danvers / Supergirl and other superheroes when the time calls. After Earth-Prime is formed, Clark is fired from his job after the Planet is bought out, and subsequently realizes one of his son also has superpowers, resulting in the Kent family moving back to Smallville after his mother dies of a stroke.
