Claudia Montano Rubio (born January 17) is a Hollywood Actress,[1] International Model, Philanthropist, Health and Religious Educator. She is well known in the entertainment industry, as she has performed in movies, music videos, and appeared on television in dramas, interviews and commercials.[2]

Claudia is also passionate about politics. Besides participating in different political campaigns and supporting candidates both in Mexico and in the United States, Claudia has educated the Hispanic communities about the principles and values of the Republican Party. She was also on the San Diego board of Registrar of Voters.

Her life has been blessed and full of wonderful experiences. Claudia’s priorities have been and continue to be caring for her beautiful family, serving the Roman Catholic Church, pursuing her acting career, and continuing her philanthropic work.

Early Life / Education[edit]

Claudia was born in Pachuca in the state of Hidalgo in Mexico. She inherited the outgoing and friendly personality of her father José Montano, a business entrepreneur and owner of the first chain of grocery stores in Pachuca. Her father used his business experience to develop a wholesale clothing company in Baja California, Mexico when he moved there with his family. Claudia learned from her father the skills required to sell and negotiate in a positive and fair way. This allowed her to create lasting relationships with customers. Through the example of her father, she learned to be a responsible businesswoman with a strong sense of ethics.

From a young age, she had a natural and deep-rooted sense of faith. Furthermore, her father taught her the importance of being loyal, strong, determined, compassionate, charitable and sincere.

When she was 9 years old, inspired by her father’s sense of business, she discovered her passion for beauty, design and fashion. Whether it be clothing, shoes, handbags, jewelry or even interior design, Claudia always had a sense for good taste, high quality, and uniqueness.

When she was a teenager, her father saw how attached she had become to the Catholic Church under the tutorship and guidance of Jesuit Priest Gabriel Marques in Mexico, so he encouraged her in that direction. She became dedicated to charity work. Initially she offered her help at the local jail with prisoners, and later at an orphanage and in several senior homes.

Whilst her charity work was very challenging at times, the reward was seeing the joy and happiness that she could add to people’s lives just by showing kindness, spending time with people and taking an interest in them. She also used to read the Bible to them and help them find hope and peace.

The charitable and philanthropic work that she has been involved in since her teenage years, and that she continues with to this day, includes The Seminary of Tijuana, Mothers of Charity from Mother Teresa, Public Schools, Children Hospital of San Diego, Children Hospital of Orange County, and Non-Profit Organizations for disabled children and adults. Later in life she started to support The American Heart Association, Scripps Green Hospital, Casa de Cuna Salvatierra, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 40 days for Life, Nativity Church and Our Lady Queen of Angels.

In recent years, she has enjoyed a successful career as an “actress.”  After taking some formal training, she quickly made progress and appeared in several movies and on television in paid programming features, drama series, advertisements, music videos, as well as educational and industrial videos for important companies.

She is fortunate to have been invited to participate in fashion shows for charity events, and sometimes commercially to represent designers; and it is always amazing to her that almost every single outfit that she has modeled for, quickly sells out.

Politics is her other interest in life! She has participated in several elections and educated her communities about conservative principles and values such as the importance of participating in the elections.

Her life has been blessed and full of wonderful experiences, many of which are most likely unique. Her priorities in life, besides her beautiful family and dear friends, are serving the Church, continuing with her philanthropic work and pursuing her acting career.

Charity Life[edit]

Claudia discovered her calling at age six – serving the poorest of the poor. She has a compassionate heart and a deep desire to help poor people. Living in very comfortable circumstances at her family’s home in Pachuca, Hidalgo, once she woke up in the middle of the night and could not get back to sleep. She went downstairs to the living room where there was a radio, she switched it on and played with the tuner to explore different stations around the world. It may have been serendipity, but Claudia found a station from another country that sparked her interest. Claudia’s knowledge of English was not advanced at that young age, however, she found herself listening to an overseas broadcast, perhaps the BBC World Service. It was a program describing the plight of disadvantaged and poor people in what then was known as the Third World.

Claudia listened to the radio that night and immediately she became interested, mesmerized, and motivated by the program. This was a significant and pivotal moment in her life that has driven her to this day, because right after hearing that radio show, Claudia saw herself helping these poor people in different countries.

From that moment on, young Claudia decided to help the disadvantaged.  She wanted to do so through the Roman Catholic Church as an International Nun of Charity. This became her major ambition.

As she grew to become a young lady, always devoted to the Church and to her Faith, this objective and belief only became stronger. Claudia was interviewed by nuns, priests, seminarians and her own family and all of them would tell her: “You were not born to become a Nun!” “You were born to be a lovely wife and to create a family.”

Naturally, Claudia’s parents wanted their daughter to get married and have children as that was what they had been taught was the correct way to live.  And so it was! Claudia met a young architect, Rigoberto; and with a degree of persuasion, within three months, a wedding date was set.

Personal life[edit]

Family[edit]

Claudia settled into what would be recognized by many as a very successful relationship that lasted eighteen years. Claudia and her husband had three children: Marcel, Rigo, and Graciel.

During those years, Claudia raised her children and worked very successfully as a team with her husband. Together, under Claudia’s direction and with Claudia’s husband’s architectural skills, they developed and completed projects involving the renovation of churches in Tijuana. Today those churches are landmarks and a part of Tijuana’s heritage for the benefit of the worshippers and their local communities.

Unfortunately, Claudia and her husband’s marriage had in many ways been inspired by the good intentions of both sets of parents and although Claudia admired her husband greatly, she was not in love with him.

Even though this may be viewed as tragic by many, Claudia finally made the difficult decision to part from her husband. She dedicated her future to her children, the church, charity and her passions, politics and acting.

Sadly, Claudia’s eldest child, Marcel, suffered from debilitating health problems since birth, in particular problems related to oxygen deprivation. As Claudia said: “God gave me a baby for a lifetime.”

Marcel shares his mother’s devotion to the Church. Claudia’s faith and maternal love have allowed her to be a special mum and to continuously care for her angel on earth, sweet “Marcel”. In addition to raising Rigo and Graciel and making sure that her three children were always happy and safe, Claudia has been heavily devoted to charitable work on both sides of the Mexico / USA border as well as in Europe and the Middle East.

Other Relations & Sports Fan[edit]

Claudia Montano with two students whom she gifted these guitars to

Claudia regularly meets up with different groups of nuns and supports their activities; sometimes she offers financial support and other times she gifts them items that she knows they need. Most of all, she is a contribution to them through her fun and lively company. Some nuns look after destitute and terminally ill patients, suffering from tuberculosis, HIV, cancer, or other dreadful diseases. Claudia maintains relationships with these patients, she visits them as much as she can and supports them to the best of her ability. Claudia also contributes to orphanages by helping students to reach their academic goals.

As well as that, Claudia give speeches on healthy-living, especially in relation to the prevention of strokes and heart disease – She is particularly active in the San Diego, Orange County and Los Angeles communities where she participates with the American Heart Association and the American Stroke Association.

Claudia has managed to keep her own promise to herself, which was to help poor but outstanding teenagers finish their High School and College studies. Besides, she has managed to comply with her parents’ aspirations for her life as she has had three wonderful children, who are now young adults. As well as that, she is recognized by various communities for her many achievements.

Other notable mentions – over the years, Claudia has received letters from Queen Elizabeth II in recognition of her charitable work; and from Princess Diana for her work with AIDS patients (an interest so close to Princess Diana’s heart). Claudia also received a special invitation from the Sisters of Charity in Italy to attend the Canonization of Saint Mother Teresa of Calcutta by Pope Francis on September 4, 2016 at the Vatican.
