Closed Loop Partners is an American investment firm focused on the circular economy, based in New York City.[1][2]

Closed Loop Partners was founded in 2014 by Ron Gonen, the former New York City Deputy Commissioner for Sanitation, Recycling and Sustainability under Mayor Michael Bloomberg. Gonen had previously co-founded Recyclebank, a firm that rewards consumers for recycling through redeemable points, and is the author of The Waste-Free World: How the Circular Economy Will Take Less, Make More, and Save the Planet.[3][4]

The company's divisions consist of an innovation center, private equity, venture capital, project finance, and growth equity. It has attracted investments from Unilever, Nestlé, Microsoft, and PepsiCo, and finances technology and infrastructure to support recycling and waste reduction, and has nearly $500 million in assets under management.[2]

The company has led consortiums to design more easily recyclable products, including working with Starbucks, Coca-Cola, and McDonald's to develop packaging and thermal cups, along with initiatives to replace single use plastic bags.[5]
