Cockpit Manager '14 is a Formula 1 management game for Windows systems, released in April 2014. It was developed by Cartola Games,[1] an independent software company based in Brazil, composed of engineering students.
Description[edit]
The game consist in managing one of the eleven Formula 1 teams, or one created by the own player, in each season database. The player takes control of every aspect of the team: dealing with sponsors, hiring drivers, signing engine supply contracts, developing the car and planning the best in-race strategy. Through the years, older drivers retire, while young drivers take their places. The game has no limited number of years to be played. The game has its own Hall of Fame featuring some of the drivers from the past, where the nowadays drivers can be inducted into. The game is rated 5.0/5.0 by the Brazilian website Baixaki.[2]
Achievements[edit]
There are 10 achievements to be unlocked. Some of them consist in winning titles in the Drivers' Championship, earning a lot of money, or having one of the player's drivers inducted to the Hall of Fame, for example. General complaint is that some are very hard to unlock, making it too difficult to unlock all of them.
Season updates[edit]
The default season for the game is the 2014 F1 season. However, there are other playable seasons that can be downloaded, including the 1976, 1991, 2000 and 2013 seasons. This makes it possible to race with some of the all-time greatest drivers through the seasons (Ayrton Senna, Michael Schumacher, Alain Prost, Niki Lauda, James Hunt and others).
