Col Richard Hewlett (Nov. 1, 1729 - July 26, 1789) was a royal loyalist born in New York colony. During the American Revolutionary war Hewlett served with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Col. Hewlett fought with [DeLancey's Brigade] in the [American Revolutionary War]. After the war he was granted land in New Brunswick, Canada for his service.[1]

In popular culture[edit]

Richard Hewlett is portrayed in the AMC television series Turn portrayed by actor [Burn Gorman]. The portrayal of Hewlett in the series is heavily fictionalized. The conspiratorial planning with Anna Strong is seen as entirely untrue, as Hewlett was stationed with his wife and children during the war.[2]
