History[edit]

Hillary Taymour established Collina Strada during her time as a student, and the brand has since gained recognition and a cult following in the fashion industry.[4]

Collina Strada offers a range of garments with a Y2K club-kid aesthetic, featuring elements such as tie-dye patterns, oversized fits, leisure wear and sweatshirts, frills, crochet, lace, and animorphism-inspired designs and modeling.[5][6] Fashion critic Rachel Tashjian notes that Taymour's label is both, "hiker-rave-chic" and "the sexy environmentalist’s Oscar de la Renta."[7]

Sustainable Practices[edit]

Collina Strada places an emphasis on sustainability by producing its clothing in limited quantities within New York City and has partnered with the OR Foundation, a Ghana-based textile waste not-for-profit, in the past.[8]

Recognitions and Collaborations[edit]

Colina Strada was nominated for a CDFA award in 2019. In 2021, they were selected by the Gucci designer Alessandro Michele digital festival, GucciFest, and they have collaborated with other brands such as Levi’s, Reebok, and Vans.[9][10] The brand was included in the “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion” exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art where the musician Kim Petras wore a dress from the label to the 202 Met Gala.[11][12]
