Columbus Energy SA (formerly Columbus Capital SA, STI Group SA) is joint-stock company in the renewable energy sector based in Krakow. The company provides renewable energy installation services. In addition to the implementation of photovoltaic installations for individual and business customers, since 2020 the company has been selling and installing heat pumps, energy storage.

The company has been listed on the NewConnect stock market since 2016.[1]

History[edit]

2015 – Construction of the first photovoltaic installation by Columbus Energy.[2]

2016 – Columbus Capital SA and Columbus Energy SA merge.[3][4] Columbus Energy debuts on the NewConnect market of the Warsaw Stock Exchange.

2019 – In the first quarter, Columbus Energy Group was joined by its subsidiary GoBloo Sp. z o.o., as well as Columbus Elite. Columbus began investment activities in the photovoltaic farm segment.

2020 – Columbus Energy began investing in Nexity, a system that manages charging infrastructure for electric cars.[5] The company expanded its business to include heat pumps and energy storage. In the first quarter of 2020, the number of customers exceeds 14,000.[6] In the second quarter of 2020, Columbus Energy's stock market capitalization exceeded PLN 1 billion.[7]

August 2020 – Columbus Energy began selling energy storage. The number of customers increased to 23,000.[8]

September 2020 – Columbus Energy has invested €10 million in Saule Technologies, a company engaged in the industrial use of perovskite for solar energy production, for the development of the world's first perovskite cell production line, created by Olga Malinkiewicz's company. Columbus has priority rights to purchase products based on perovskite cells.[9]

October 2021 – 37th on the Forbes Ranking of the Largest Polish Private Companies – in 2021. Columbus was included in the list of the 100 Largest Polish Private Companies, this year's entry threshold was one billion zlotys.[10]

April 2022 – Columbus launches its proprietary PowerHouse energy management system, HEMS.[11]

June 2022 – Columbus enters the Czech Republic with an offering, the Company's first foreign market.[12]

July 2022 – Columbus begins investing in large-scale energy storage.[13]
