Picodi is an international e-commerce platform which provides discount coupons for online stores.[2] Founded in 2010 in Kraków, it currently operates in 41 countries.[3] In 2015 its value was estimated at about at €4.7 million.[4][5]
History[edit]
Initially called International Coupons, the company was founded in 2010 in Poland by Szymon Dobosz who is presently the CEO of the company, Bartłomiej Tyranowski, Tomasz Kraus and Łukasz Haluch.[6]
In 2015 a Poland-based venture capital fund Innovation Nest invested in the platform,[7] which allowed further international expansion.[8] Subsequently, platforms in Australia,[9] South Africa[10] and Nigeria were launched.[11]
The company operated under different brand names in 25 countries, including Russia, Spain, Turkey and Brazil until 2016 when it was merged into Picodi.com.[12][13][14]
Overview[edit]
The website aggregates online stores and discount coupons.[15] A promo code that enables purchase under special conditions is revealed once the user clicks the "Reveal the code" button next to a coupon.[16] Picodi can be used without signing up although registered users can enable alerts that will notify them when new discounts appear in stores they follow.[17][18]
The website operates in 41 countries and is available in a number of different languages, e.g. English, Spanish, Russian, German and other. Every country has its own base of stores and codes.[19][20]
