Comprendre: revista catalana de filosofia is an academic journal founded in 1999 by the Faculty of Philosophy of University Ramon Llull, which is also its publisher.[1]
The journal’s aim is two-fold: on the one hand, to promote the research and publish studies of philosophy in Catalonia; and on the other hand, to feature and make known the current international picture of contemporary philosophical studies.[2] Beginning in 2011 it developed into a new phase while still delving into its main intellectual concerns and subjects, such as epistemology, metaphysics, logic, anthropology, history of philosophy, ethics, philosophy of science, hermeneutics and aesthetics, among others.[1] The journal’s directors to this day have been the following: Josep Monserrat i Molas (1999-2006), Ignasi Roviró i Alemany (2006-2010) i Armando Pego Puigbó (2011-).[1]
The journal is indexed in several databases, such as Erih Plus, CIRC, IBR, IBZ, IBZ Online ISOC, Latindex,[3] Dialnet, Scopus, Raco.cat, Philosopher's Index and Répertoire bibliographique de la philosophie (Université de Louvain). It boasts an up-to-date quality seal in the Segell de Qualitat FECYT (Fundación Española para la Ciencia y la Tecnología, Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology),[4] as well as in the Segell de Qualitat Carhus Plus+C issued by the AGAUR (in Catalan Agència de Gestió d'Ajuts Universitaris i de Recerca, University and Research Grants Management Agency).[5] Its ICDS of 9,8,[6] is included in the University of Barcelona’s MIAR (Matriu d'Informació per a l'Anàlisi de Revistes). It's also part of the REDIB (Red Iberoamericana de Innovación y Conocimiento científico),[7] and is also present within the SJR (Scimago Journal & Country Rank).
