Condemned are a death metal / deathgrind band from Belfast, Northern Ireland.
Biography[edit]
The band was started by drummer Willy Taylor and Davey Foster in 1993, but Willy has remained constant throughout the different line-ups the band has had over the years. Guitarist Steve Moore joined the band shortly after its conception. The band, starting out as a heavy-metal band, have developed their sound over the years including influences from old-school death metal, heavy metal, technical death metal, funk, grind and bizarrely for the genre, dance music.[citation needed]
Since the release of their CDs Prelude and Somebody Stop... the band played a number of gigs overseas including shows with Napalm Death, Extreme Noise Terror and Desecration.
On 4 July 2003 the band was included as part of Terrorizer magazine's Northern Irish scene report.[1]
After some problems with the line-up and the loss of two consecutive practice areas around 2004, Michael Ardill was recruited on bass duties. The band decided to stay as a four-piece and the album, ...And That's How I Found Them, was recorded between February and March 2005. After the recording, the band embarked upon a full UK tour as main support alongside England's Nailed with Sweden's Visceral Bleeding.[2][3] The band has also played support slots throughout the UK and Ireland for bands such as Obituary, Cannibal Corpse, Necrophagist, Desecration and Pungent Stench.
