Cranial Screwtop are an English punk-influenced rock band which plays 1980s pop songs in a punk style, the only specialist covers band of its type currently in the UK. The band's sound is distinguished by their use of kazoos. Their logo comprises off-set, concentric black and white rings which appear to be a spiral. As the band explained on The Punk Rawk Show[1], hosted by Natalie Hyman on North Manchester FM, the name was inspired by the film The Man with Two Brains. The band's second album and live act were featured in the Lancaster Guardian[2]. The song 'Planet Earth', taken from their first album, was referenced on the BBC TV show 'TOTP2' during a performance by Duran Duran;[3][4] in 2013, the song 'New Life' appeared on the compilation album DRC2 [5].
