Crown Electrokinetics is a smart glass technology company based in Corvallis, Oregon that was founded by Doug Croxall, Tim Koch, and Jim Douvikas in 2015 to develop light control film technology that was acquired from HP.[1][2] The electrokinetic technology was being developed at HP since 2007, before being divested to Crown in 2015. The electrokinetic technology uses electrically charged pigments to control the tint of the glass surface. The company develops and licenses its patented smart glass technology for the commercial and residential real estate industries.[3]

On June 11, 2020, the company announced that it had received a strategic investment from Hudson Pacific Properties.[4][5][6]

On January 28, 2021, the company announced that it had completed a $21.5 million public offering and become listed on Nasdaq.[7]
