Cumulative Layout Shift
Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS)[1] is a performance metric introduced in 2020 by Lighthouse to measure the perceived visual stability of a web page load[2][3]. CLS measures the unexpected shifting of web elements while the page is being rendered. Shifting may cause in upside or downside of the page leading to bad user experience.
Mostly CLS Causes Due to unexpected DOM Load inside an web page such as ads and videos.
Now CLS is considered as a major factor to decide search ranking of a page in Google Search[4]
