Curve Fever is free-to-play Browsergame, which can be played by two to eight players. It is a remake of Achtung, die Kurve!: Achtung, die Kurve 2 it was later renamed to Curve Fever, it was published 2011 by the Dutch authors Geert van den Burg and Robin Brouns.[1]

A common abbreviation for Curve Fever is cf or cf2, among the fans it is called Curve Fever 2 .[2]

Gameplay[edit]

Each player spawns as a dot at a random spot on the playing field, move at a constant speed. Each player has the ability to turn left or right, although the turning speed is limited such that sharp turns are not possible. As the dot travels across the playing field, it draws a permanent, solid line in its wake, in the color of that player. When the dot collides with any section of line or the boundary of the playing field, the player instantly loses, although the line remains in the playing field until the end of the game. The game becomes increasingly difficult as more of the playing field is blocked off by lines. Other players may try to draw barriers to block the path of other players, forcing them into a collision. However, as the lines are being drawn, gaps are occasionally being generated that can be used to escape a section of the map that has been blocked off. The game is won when all but one of the players has collided.[3]

The game has been expanded with 25 Powerups, which have special effects on your own Curve (green), on other curves (red) and on the whole game (blue)[4] It has also an ingame-chat, and it is possible to add friend in a friend-list.

In Curve Fever it is possible to create a room or to join an existing one. With the ingame currency (coins) you can buy special colors, 5 extra Powerups or an icon, which is before you name.[5]

The skill level of an player shows the rank, there are 3 different ranks: FFA (deathmatch), TEAM (teamgames), 1-1 (duels). The rank is being computed with an Elo-rating-system.[6][7][8]

On 22 August 2019 Hidden Monster Games announced they will stop supporting Curve Fever 2 as of September 2nd, 2019 because of declining number of users and because Flash will stop working in 2020.[9]

Tournaments[edit]

Premium members can join a monthly Tournament with alternately modes and Items. The winner of each Tournament gets a Champion title.[10]

Clans[edit]

In Curve Fever it is possible to create or join a clan, in a clan you can fight against another clan in a Clanwars.[11][12][13]
