Lee Jennings born 18 May 1982, stage name Tempo / DJ Tempo, is a British professional DJ and record producer he is also the owner of record label Tempo Music.

Personal Life and Career[edit]

Tempo (Lee) was born into a typical working-class family in the Medway towns of Kent where he lived with his mother and younger siblings.

He started to produce & remix music as a hobby under the stage name "Dj Tempo" just after leaving school but this was interrupted after he joined the Army aged 17.

Whilst in the Army Lee served 4 years as a combat medical technician in the RAMC before being medically discharged, he then left his home town and moved to Swansea in South Wales.

After a couple of years living in Swansea he had a serious road traffic accident on a mountain bike which nearly cost him his life, after his accident he found himself out of work due to a fractured wrist and facial injuries. During his recovery, he reignited his passion for music and by utilizing the music production software Fruity Loops studio.

After several demo songs remixed and created using music production software became spread over the internet, he started to receive emails from dance clubs that wanted to hire him as a DJ as far afield as Australia.

In 2007, he signed his first recording contract with UK based independent record label Dance Jam Music where he was managed by UK recording artist Dean Marcel[1], releasing his first remix online (not through the record label), "Sweet Dreams". Among the younger listeners, the song became a hit instantly in the UK after its initial success online.[2]After DJ Tempo started advertising online his fan base steadily increased & he began making more popular music and spreading his name worldwide popularity was further achieved with a collection of releases attracting the attention of industry leaders such as Lange, Europe, Basshunter and Thea Austin. Also in 2007, Dj Tempo released his debut album, titled The Hits".[3] He has gone on to release many other popular remix/productions since and has a second album due for release in 2019.

Tempo is probably most recognizable by his popular catchphrase "Peace Out" always with an added X at the end to express his love for his fans and supporters as he is quoted for saying "I make my music for the fans, not myself without the love and support of the fans there can be no DJ its the fans that make the name"

Though he doesn't advocate drug use Tempo is also well known for a crudely drawn tattoo of'Tempo' on his left wrist which he jokingly states "I had done whilst high, now it's stuck... so what the hell, keep it"

To this day Tempo can still be seen talking to his fans through different social media platforms including his homepage [4] insisting he hasn't forgotten his roots and still enjoys meeting and talking to new people about his music and his journey.

Health[edit]

Tempo spent some time away from the public eye between 2009 and present due to a long term battle with PTSD, Anxiety, Panic disorder & Emotional dysregulation disorder due to personal trauma in his younger life. Tempo now openly supports treatment and services for fellow sufferers of mental illness and has since set up two companies to help those dealing with childhood trauma.
