DJ Hollygrove, born D. Louding, Jr. April 9th, 1984, is an American Hip Hop DJ, Producer and radio personality in Houston. He is also the former Tour Dj for Lil' O, RiFF RaFF (rapper) formerly of the MTV From G's to Gents, radio personality on KQBT 93.7 The Beat Houston, a 2017 South by Southwest panelist [1] and one of the producers [2] on an episode of the Viceland TV show Black Market with Michael K. Williams.
Early life[edit]
A student of John McDonogh High School he was present during the John McDonogh High School shooting. DJ also attended NOCCA for drama 98-01 and Jazz 01-03 and was classmates with Trombone Shorty and Jon Batiste. While at NOCCA DJ Hollygrove studied under Kidd Jordan and had the honor to play with Jazz great and fellow New Orleanian/ NOCCA Alum Wynton Marsalis and Harry Connick Jr. In 2001 fascinated with the DJ culture he began learning how to DJ and did many parties and Proms while still in high school. His career as a trombonist continued to college where he received a scholarship to Texas Southern University to become a member of the Ocean of Soul Marching Band in 2003.
DJ career[edit]
Starting in 2001 DJ started doing family events and local parties in New Orleans. While attending college at Texas Southern University, he began to make chopped and screwed mixes. In 2008 he became to road DJ for Lil' O and a year later he was signed as a member of OG Ron C's The Chopstars. DJ Hollygrove along side The Chopstars he was named on air mixer DJ for Houston based iHeartRadio KQBT 93.7 The Beat in August 2014.[3][4] In 2016 he was named a producer for an episode of Viceland's "Black Market" With Michael K. Williams, which featured OG Ron C, Soulja Boy among others.[5] In Jan 2017 DJ Hollygrove was announced as an official panelist at South by Southwest[6]
