DaForce Dawg is a Canadian producer, rapper, and songwriter based in Montreal and Los Angeles. He helped establish Unknown Source Music, a Canadian music label.[1][2]
Early life[edit]
Dominic Laforce, known as DaForce or DaForce Dawg, was born in Montreal. His mother was born in Jamaica. DaForce grew up traveling across Canada and the United States. He could play the guitar by age four, and could play drums by age eight.[2][3][4] At ten years old, he had his first band together.[3][4]
Career[edit]
In the early 1990s, DaForce helped establish Unknown Source Music label. Unknown has worked with artists such as Kayla Doll, Curtis Dayne, Spoilt Child, Crystal, Crysto Klear, and Div 1.[2] DaForce was approached to sign with Warner Music Group, but went with Unknown Source Music.[3][4] DaForce has worked with Redman, Too Short, KRS-One, Run-D.M.C. and others.[2][5] His first single came out in 1994.[4] In September 2014, he released song "Go Go Go" as part of a six track album which featured Choclair, Elle Madison , Moka Only , Eternia, and Crysto Klear.[1][2][6] "Nothing Better Than This" was released in December 2014 as part of a four track collaboration with Curtis Dayne.[2][5] DaForce also works with musicians attempting to launch their career through efforts such as Smokin Ya Production, an organization he founded to help upcoming artists.[3][4]
