Dabenja born as Benjamin Uwah[1] is a Nigerian award-winning afropop musician.[2][3]
Early life[edit]
Dabenja hails from Akwa Ibom State but was born and raised in Lagos State.[citation needed]
Career[edit]
Dabenja started his music career as a chior in his father's church. According to him in an interview with Juliet Ebirim of Vanguard, his choice of music was inspired by Bob Marley and Fela Kuti.[4][2] In 2011, he announced his debut single called "Terere" which topped music charts in Malaysia.[2]
He owns a record label called The Mustard Seed music (TMS) Entertainment as stated by The Guardian[5] and also a brand ambassador for PagePedia.[6]
