Dan Morehead is an American investor, founder and CEO of Pantera Capital.
Education and career[edit]
Dan graduated from Princeton University in Structural Engineering with a B.S. and received the Carmichael Prize for his thesis.[1]
Dan began his career as a Collateralized Mortgage Obligation trader at Goldman Sachs.[2][3] Dan founded Pantera Capital Management LP a macro hedge fund that specializes in cryptocurrencies in 2003 which was the first investment fund focused on Bitcoin in the United States.[4][5] He also co-founded Atriax and was its CEO.[6] He served previously at Tiger Management as Head of Macro Trading and CFO,[7] former chairman at Bitstamp[8] and he was also featured in the novel, Digital Gold by Nathaniel Popper.[9]
