Dan Arthur (born Daniel Derek Arthur, June 15, 1970) is an American radio broadcaster[1] and US Army military veteran. He first gained notoriety as an on-air personality for KRWQ radio in southern Oregon on October 31st, 1996[2]. His quick wit and unique form or sarcasm catapulted him in popularity with the local audience[3]. Since that time, he has risen to greater prominence as he and his wife, Michelle Reil, host a national radio program each weekday morning on the Air1 network in the United States and around the world. According to Ryan (2018), the network's programming has aired on more than 520 FM stations and translators in 48 U.S. states, American Samoa, Puerto Rico, and the District of Columbia. As of 2018, K-Love and its sister station Air1 reportedly had a weekly cumulative audience of about 20 million listeners. [4]
Early Life[edit]
Dan was born the 5th of five sons to Ernest and Rita Arthur at a time when the Viet Nam War[5] was in full swing with the United States committing over 335,000 troops. Fifty thousand troops lost their lives in what the government only referred to as a "police action." Paul McCartney announced his departure from the Beatles[6] and Apolo 13 launched as the 3rd mission to the moon.
Born in a world of both upheaval and celebration, Dan grew up in a middle class family
