Daniel J Webb (born 1994) is an English photographer,[1] journalist and publicist. Webb is a member of the Liberal Democrats, representing the party in Walcot and Park North ward, Swindon.

Childhood and education[edit]

Webb was born at Princess Margaret Hospital in Swindon, on 27 June 1994, to parents Andrew and Zoë Webb. His registered birth name is Daniel Andrew Webb. He is of Christian descent, but is known to be agnostic.

Between 2005 and 2010, Webb attended Commonweal School, but left without achieving any GCSEs. He also attended New College between 2008 and 2010, achieving a BTEC First Diploma in Health and Social Care. Throughout secondary school, Webb had aspired to train to be a nurse.

Spending much of his childhood birdwatching with his grandparents, Webb later discovered his talent for wildlife photography. Since 2008, he has held numerous photography exhibitions.[1] His biggest to date was held in July 2010 at The Post Modern art gallery,[2] owned by Artsite, in Swindon town centre.

Career[edit]

Webb started his career as a photographer, opening his first studio aged 15-years-old. Webb has photographed many celebrities over the years. They include Natalie Bennett, Mavis Cheek, Steve Backshall and Dame Kelly Holmes.

In 2011, aged 16-years-old, Webb founded the online newspaper, FLIC Wiltshire. For two years he worked as a journalist and press photographer, creating news content for the website, often breaking news before the Swindon Advertiser, and other major news outlets. FLIC Wiltshire generated revenue from digital advertising.

In 2013, Webb sold the business. He remained as News Editor for three months.

Webb went on to launch a PR agency, KDA Consultancy. The agency was re-branded to Highsky PR when Webb signed his first major PR contract.[3] with his close friend, martial artist and media personality, Matt Fiddes.

In 2014, Webb was offered a position at Thirdline, an IT, cloud and communications company based in Wiltshire. He joined the company as PR and Marketing Manager.[4] One month later, Webb was promoted to Creative Development Lead, and headed up the development of their own PR and creative department. He resigned late 2014.

Following Webb's resignation from Thirdline, he re-branded Highsky PR to Zestco. Zestco is his current a PR and creative agency. He has continued to retain Matt Fiddes as a client throughout. Fiddes made Webb the Media Manager for MF Group, the organisation responsible for his worldwide enterprise, in May 2015.

Politics[edit]

In May 2015, Webb announced that he had joined the Liberal Democrats. A short time later, the Swindon branch of the Liberal Democrats assigned him to Walcot and Park North as their representative in the area. Webb will stand for Councillor in Walcot and Park North ward in Swindon Borough Council's local government election 2016.
