Daniel Scott Johnson (born February 24, 1979) is an American financial advisor and the founder of Windfall Advisors, an investment advisory firm based in California.
Education and career
Johnson attended Southeast Missouri State University, where he played collegiate golf. He earned the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor designation in 2013 and completed executive education at Columbia Business School in 2022. He also holds the Certified Exit Planning Advisor credential from the Exit Planning Institute.[1]
He began his career in commercial real estate brokerage in St. Louis, Missouri. In 2008, he transitioned to wealth management, joining Merrill Lynch in Los Angeles, and later worked at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management.[2][3][4]
In 2020, Johnson established Windfall Advisors, an investment advisory firm that provides investment management and financial planning services.[5][6] The firm specializes in advising individuals undergoing sudden financial changes.[7][8][9][10]
Johnson has served on the boards of United Cerebral Palsy of Los Angeles – Wheels of LA Division and the Malibu Chamber of commerce.[11][2]
