Career[edit]
Early Life[edit]
Danny Burke is originally from Chanhassen, Minnesota. Burke took piano lessons and played saxophone in middle school band, but his passion for music took off in early high school, when he began to experiment on the computer with classical orchestration and electronic sounds using one of the first software programs, Rebirth, the precursor to Reason. Burke studied Marketing and got a minor in Electronic Music production from University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN.
2005- Present[edit]
After graduating in 2005, Burke worked as an in-house composer at Minneapolis based company, In the Groove Music, with fellow musician Brian Casey. At In the Groove, Burke wrote television, film, and commercial music, including the theme to CBS sports, updating the theme to SportsCenter, and the theme to Alaska: the Last Frontier (2012 ASCAP award winner).[9][10]
In 2009, Burke and Lizzie Brown (now married) began making music as the band Meme and later as Secret Wonder. Burke explored his love of putting music to picture by animating music videos for these projects. He learned how to weave his musical intuition, creativity and expertise into bringing visuals to life with his music, including having his animated video to Meme’s "I Always Knew" debut at the St. Paul Minneapolis International Film Festival.[11] Burke was able to use this understanding of the relationship between music and picture when he moved to Los Angeles and began focusing on collaborating with artists to write music that can be showcased in film and TV.
After moving to Los Angeles, Burke started his side project Klergy which has been featured in multiple placements in TV and trailers, including Lucifer, Empire, and Riverdale.
