Daria Marx Marcinkowska (born 25 October 1995)[1], known mononymously as Daria, is a Polish singer, composer, songwriter, and music producer.[2][3]
Biography[edit]
Marcinkowska grew up in Łazisk Górnych.[4] At the age of seven, she enrolled in the church choir.[5] At the age of 18, she went to London to study for five years at the London College of Music.[1] During her studies, she sang before the Swedish Royal Family.[6]
In the autumn of 2019, she participated in The Voice of Poland on TVP2[7] and was eliminated in the battle stage.[8] After participating in the Polish version of The Voice, she signed a record contract with the German label Pelican Songs.[1][7]
In April 2020, she released the single "Leave a Sign" with Carsky.[9][3] On March 26, 2021, she released "Love Blind",[10] which conquered the Polish charts[11] and made it onto the top streaming charts of Brazil, Norway, and Belgium.[12]
On 8 October 2021, she released "Paranoia",[13] which made it to the AirPlay – Top chart list in the first week[11] and was played on Russian[14] and North Macedonian radio stations.[12] On 19 February 2022, she performed "Paranoia" on the TVP2 National selection for the Eurovision Song Contest Tu bije serce Europy!Wybieramy hit na Eurowizję!, where she placed second.[15] With German DJ duo Kush Kush, she released "Never Ending Story",[16] which reached #1 on the AirPlay – Top chart.
In the spring of 2023, she took part in the eighteenth edition of Your Face Sounds Familiar, a TV show by Polsat,[17] where after nine episodes she reached the final and placed second.
