Darren Coleman (born May 30, 1977) is a Canadian information technology specialist and technology writer.[1] He is known for starting Coleman Technologies, an IT support and consulting firm located in Langley, British Columbia, Canada.[2]

Coleman is a contributing author to Technology Press's #1 bestselling book, Easy Prey: How to Protect Your Business from Data Breach, Cybercrime, and Employee Fraud.[3][4] In addition, he has achieved certifications of Certified Ethical Hacker and Cybersecurity: Managing Risk in the Information Age. Coleman is also featured on ABC, ESPN, NBC, CBS, FOX, and CW.[copyright violation?]

Early life and education[edit]

Coleman was born on May 30, 1977, in Castlegar, British Columbia, Canada. He completed his education at the Kwantlen Polytechnic University. In July 2019, Coleman volunteered as a president at Walnut Grove Toastmasters.[5][not in citation given]

Career[edit]

Coleman started his career in January 1997 as a senior engineer at Full Factor Technologies. Later in 1999, he founded Coleman Technologies and became its Chief Executive Officer.[2][not in citation given]

Coleman contributed to the book, Easy Prey: How to Protect Your Business from Data Breach, Cybercrime and Employee Fraud,[6][7] which later became Technology Press's #1 bestselling book after its release on Amazon.[3][4]

Later, Coleman was a featured speaker at the annual Business Expert Forum at the Harvard Faculty Club in Cambridge, Massachusetts.[2][4][8] In addition, Coleman has obtained several certifications, including Cybersecurity: Managing Risk in the Information Age, Certified Ethical Hacker, CompTIA A+ Certified, CompTIA Network+ Certified, Datto Certified Advanced Technician (DCAT), Information Technology and Computer Support Specialist, and Linux Systems Administration And Configuration. He has also been featured on ABC News, ESPN, NBC News, CBS News, FOX News, and CW.[9]
