Sloan Struble, known professionally as Dayglow, is an American singer, songwriter, and producer from Aledo, Texas.[3] He released his first album, "Fuzzybrain", on September 28, 2018. [4]

Sloan Struble was born on August 10th, 1999, in Aledo, Texas, a small suburb.[5] His parents are named John and Kristy Struble.

At 10 years old, Sloan Struble started to work with Garageband to teach himself how to create music.[5]

Struble started attending the University of Texas at Austin in 2018, where he studied advertising. He dropped out in 2019.[2]

Style[edit]

Struble chose the name Dayglow from the song "Day Glo" by Brazos.[6]

Dayglow's music is a blend of alternative and indie pop.[7] Ones To Watch called Dayglow's style "distinct and undeniably sincere." Later adding that "his work is both relatable and irresistible."[5]

Billboard chronicled the two year timeline to his rise in popularity in which the song Can I Call You Tonight? reached the top five on Billboard’s Alternative airplay chart.[8]

Inspirations for his musical style include Michael Jackson and Tame Impala. [5]

The album contains 10 songs, with Can I Call You Tonight?, Hot Rod, Listerine, and Nicknames released as singles with accompanying music videos.  Can I Call You Tonight? and Hot Rod have become his most popular songs, partly due to their popularity on the platform TikTok. Struble personally molded a portrait of his own head for the album cover, the first music video he released (for Can I Call You Tonight?) was filmed with only a green screen backdrop and a hometown friend, it has more than 42 Million views on YouTube[9], and he recorded all of the songs on this album in his childhood bedroom right before he moved to the University of Texas at Austin in the fall of 2018.[10]

2018 - Fuzzybrain[edit]

Since 2018, Sloan started recording his his debut album Fuzzybrain. The album was released independly on September 28. Following the album release, Sloan was inveted to perform at Austin City Limits Music Festival at BMI Stage on October, 12.[7][8]. The album first song to get a major attention was 'Can I Call You Tonight?' released into TuneCore with music video being released on february 12.

On july 2019, Sloan re-released the album through label Acrophase Records.[12]

On 2020, the song started getting attention through social media, being featured on Spotify's 'Song of the Summer', stated by TODAY as if "The 50-second opening guitar and piano instrumental sets the mood for this relatable song about someone wanting to call another person late in the night to share their feelings. [...]"[13]

2021 - 'Close to you'[edit]

In 2021, Sloan released his single Close to You out of an uppcomming album throught Very Nice Records.[15][16] On January 26, 2021, Dayglow made its debut as a band into The Late Show with Stephen Colbert's, "Late Show at Home" series performing the song 'Can I Call You Tonight'.[17][18]
