Dean Neistat is an American stuntman[1] and actor.[1] He is also a decorated USAF combat pilot who served in Iraq and Afghanistan.[2] He is a younger brother of YouTube celebrity and filmmaker Casey Neistat.
Early years
Neistat grew up in a small town in coastal Connecticut. He was the youngest of four children. He attended Ledyard public schools from kindergarten until he graduated Ledyard high school in 2001. He excelled at tennis and spent three years on the varsity tennis team. His best record was during his junior year where he won 15 matches and lost only two.[3] Ledyard High School tennis team was the Eastern Connecticut Conference Champion that year.[4]

Post-military life
Neistat separated from active duty in March 2012. He then moved to NYC to pursue a career as a stuntman. He quickly gained traction with the local stunt community with jobs on several Feature Films and Television programs. During this time he began studying acting with Sondra Lee. After booking small parts on TV shows and films such as Daredevil[7] and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt [8] Neistat booked a strong supporting role in the film Patriots Day playing opposite Kevin Bacon in 2016.[9] The film premiered at AFI Fest in Los Angeles and had its red carpet premiere in Boston on December 14, 2016.[10]
Neistat also is a talented photographer. He worked for several news publications and has had photos run on international publications both in print and online. [11] [12] [13]
On January 23, 2016, during the January 2016 United States blizzard, Dean, his brother Casey Neistat, Oscar Boyson, and Jesse Wellens filmed a video through the abandoned streets of New York City.[14] The video, titled "Snowboarding with the NYPD," showed Dean towing his brother Casey on a rope through streets of NYC and through Times Square. The video went viral and gained 6.5 million views on YouTube within 24 hours.[15]
