Berkin Elvan was a 15 year old boy, who was hit on the head by a tear-gas canister in Istanbul, in June 2013 during anti-government protests in Turkey, and died after 269 days in a coma.[1][2][3] Widespread demonstrations erupted following Berkin's death.[4]
