From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Dee Dee Witman is a political fundraiser from Providence, Rhode Island.[1][2] In 2017, Witman joined Republican Cranston Mayor Allan Fung's 2018 campaign for governor of Rhode Island as a fundraiser.[1] In June 2018 she left his campaign and filed to run as an independent candidate for Mayor of Providence.[3][2]

After announcing her candidacy, she initially said she would continue working for the 2018 Fung campaign while running for mayor of Providence, but later resigned from the Fung campaign.[4]

In August 2018, it was reported she loaned her campaign $500,000 to finance her mayoral run.[5][6]

Before working for Fung, she was Finance Chair for the unsuccessful 2014 mayoral campaign of former mayor and convicted felon Buddy Cianci.[7][2][5][8] She served alongside former Cianci staffers Cyd McKenna, his campaign manager; Beryl Kenyon, Cianci's longtime press secretary and campaign press officer; and Charles Mansolillo, his city solicitor and Campaign Chair and Treasurer.[7][9]

She has also worked as fundraiser for Democrats Richard Licht on his 1988 U.S. Senate run and Joseph R. Paolino Jr. in his 1990 gubernatorial campaign.[1][8]

Witman was close with Mark Weiner, a veteran fundraiser and influential figure in the Rhode Island Democratic Party.[1][10][8]
