Deepanshu Joshi is a young Indian lawyer who specializes in Civil, Criminal, and Commercial law. He primarily practices at the High Court of Delhi in India but also appears before various High Courts, District & Sessions Courts throughout India. He is also seen at various tribunals and forums in Delhi. He is also one of the youngest Indian lawyers to be appointed as an "Amicus Curiae" by the Saket District & Sessions Court in a Criminal Case at the young age of just 23 years. He is enrolled with the Bar Council of Delhi and also with the All India Bar Association. He is also the founder of the New Delhi based Law firm Deepanshu Joshi & Co.
Career
As a Lawyer
Deepanshu Joshi began his legal career by starting a law internship with a litigating lawyer who was doing chamber practice at The High Court of Delhi. Later, he pursued 12 internships with different Jurists, Law Firms, and Judges. Since then, he has obtained legal training and worked with the likes of Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co., Dhir & Dhir Associates, P & A Law Offices and for a very short period of time under Hon'ble Justice Gita Mittal, who is the former Acting Chief Justice of Delhi High Court. Deepanshu Joshi started his Litigating career straight after graduating from Amity Law School Delhi. He started with litigation under the mentorship of Advocate Karnail Singh, the President Of Saket Court Bar Association. Later in 2019, Deepanshu Joshi started his own law firm in New Delhi called Deepanshu Joshi & Co. Deepanshu Joshi fought his very first case at the young age of 24 in the court of Shri Deepak Sherawat, LD MM, Patiala House Court, contesting a bail application for the accused in an Arms Act and IPC section 378 case registered by the special cell of the police at P.S. Lodhi colony. Deepanshu Joshi later came to be noted for his appearance as "Amicus Curiae" in the court of Shri Gulshan Kumar, Ld MM, Saket Court in the matter of state vs yogender saroi, which was a case registered under Arms Act and IPC.
Personal Life
He was born into a Punjabi-Brahmin Family in New Delhi, India. His father, Mr. Deepak Joshi, is an Economics & Finance (accountancy) expert who works for the Government of India as the DGM of NSIC (National Small Scale Industries Corporation) who also assists MSME (Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises). His Mother, Mrs. Jyoti Joshi, is a teacher by profession but is currently a homemaker. His grandfather, Dr. R.L. Joshi, was a successful criminal lawyer in India, who has also worked for the department of defence of India who later turned into a Doctor for homeopathic medicines with a view to providing the world and needy with free medicare and in 1995 he immigrated to the United States of America. Deepanshu Joshi is fond of music and is a passionate soccer and basketball player. Deepanshu Joshi has said that he would like to teach law at Oxford University one day.
