Demon Skin is a Hack and slash\ jump and run action video game developed by Russian independent game studio Ludus Future[1] and published by Buka Entertainment[2]. The game release was announced for Microsoft Windows[3], Xbox One[4], Nintendo Switch[5] and PlayStation 4. Demon Skin gameplay is set in a dark fantasy world and combines RPG, fighting, platformer and other gameplay mechanics.

Gameplay[edit]

Demon Skin combat system requires players to constantly use and combine three combat stances (low, middle and upper) to attack enemies or parry their attacks. To perform finishing moves or to deal maximum damage players have to use all three stances and to keep an eye on a stamina level as it might be crucial to win the battle.

More than 30 types of blunt and slashing weapons each of which is a weapon of choice to deal with the particular enemies. There are two main types of the enemies in the game – “bony” (skeletons, insects or golems) and “fleshy” (humans, dwarves, etc.) The experience gained while progressing through the game can be used to unlock new combos, increase health points, stamina or damage level.

Plot[edit]

In the fantasy setting of the game many worlds were overwhelmed by darkness and evil. Only the members of the mighty Order of Wanderers can oppose this foul force as they possess the superhuman powers. During his journey through the worlds, one of the Wanderers witnesses the sinister ritual of restoring the ancient artifact. He tries to interrupt this ritual and is immediately turned into the demon by the energy released from the artifact. Now his purpose is to get his lost form back and to find the stolen artifact.

Development[edit]

Original story and Game design by Denis Listov. Denis had started to work on Demon Skin on his own at 2014. Over the next 7 years the game went through numerous staff lineup changes, two crowd funding campaigns, game style and conception changes. Eventually Denis founded the Ludus Future studio and managed to release the title.
