Diana Davis is a news personality in Jonesboro, Arkansas, known for KAIT as the Anchor/Reporter. Born in Raytown, Missouri, Davis attended the University of Kansas.[1]

Career[edit]

Davis' career started with her work at KCMO Radio 81, Lawrence Sunflower Cable and WIBW-TV in Topeka, Kansas. Diana Davis has worked for KAIT since 1989 (34 years).

Davis also plans to write a book, as she said in an interview with Talk Business & Politics; "In the future, I’d like to write a book. There have been so many times in my career that I have thought one story was worth an entire book. It’s really hard to give an in-depth view to some stories that really unravel right before your eyes when you are the one tasked with telling the tale. When you get to know the people who were affected by a crime or the loss of a loved one, it’s difficult to share the depths of that pain in the one-and-a-half or two minutes we are given every night. That’s where I think it would be fascinating to approach the writing process from a different angle."[2]

Awards and recognition[edit]

In addition to an Emmy, Davis has been recognized by the Arkansas Associated Press, Jonesboro Classroom Teachers Organization, American Cancer Society and Arkansas Chapter of the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill. She was also named AY Magazine's Most Powerful Women of Arkansas of 2014.[1]

  • National Association of Junior Auxiliaries
  • National Sports at Arkansas State University
  • Ryan White Consortium for District V
  • Society of Professional Journalists
