Dig Dug
Dig Dug is the fifth episode of season two. As Joyce Byers is looking around at Will Byers’ drawings, Mike Wheeler talks to Will, where Will reveals that he saw the Mind Flayer entering his body while he was in the Vale of Shadows, and that it is probably in the real world. Mike tells Will that the mind flayer would be hard to catch, as it would probably act as a top-secret spy, moving around secretively. Jim Hopper realizes that the bullet hole in his body is bleeding out, and he starts to ferociously cough. Johnathan Byers and Nancy Wheeler get a hotel room to spend the night. Will starts screaming because he just had a scary nightmare, and Joyce realizes that she has not talked to Hopper ever since a long time ago. Hopper realizes he is slowly dying inside of the tunnel and creates a homemade bandage to protect himself from bleeding. As he is leaving, he is paranoid of the tunnels. Dustin Henderson goes to his mother, who is relieved because she could not find Dustin anywhere. Dustin asks his mother where the cat is, which causes her to drive to the nearest pet store. Dustin then grabs D'Artagnan and throws him into a cellar, which he calls Solitary Confinement, revenge for eating the cat. Eleven walks to the Ive’s house, demanding to speak to Terry Ives for claiming that she is Jane Ives. Becky Ives tells Jane that Terry has gone mad because of her, causing Eleven to feel very guilty. Nancy and Johnathan drive to Murray Bauman’s house in Mumbai, where they ask him what he knows about Will’s disappearance. Murray starts talking about his predictions about how some monster kidnapped Will and at least 5 others, and how Will could have been the only one to survive. Dustin smashes the Dig Dug arcade machine, and when Max Mayfield starts to scream at him, he tapes Max’s mouth. He then takes her to the back room of the arcade, where he forces her to listen about what happened last year. Joyce asks Will to draw a map of Hawkins, and with Bob Newby’s help, decide to search for Hopper at the lake. Hopper finds many dead animals and starts getting creeped out and tries to escape. Dustin uses the supercom to tell his friends to come to his house and have a funeral, but the only person to show up is Lucas Sinclair’ sister Erica Sinclair, who was using Lucas’ supercom. Eleven is allowed in the guest bedroom inside of the Ives’ house, where she realizes that Terry wants to speak to her. Dustin convinces Steve to help him torture Dart, and they start walking on a train track to Dustin’s house, but Steve notices a train coming and jumps off, but Dustin is hit. Nancy and Johnathan start flexing about being in Hawkins Lab to Murray. Terry Ives shows Eleven a photo of herself giving birth to Jane and then starts screaming about how Martin Brenner was not actually who he seemed. Before she can tell Eleven more about Brenner, she collapses. Joyce takes Bob and Will to the lake which they deduced Hopper was at, and when they start to burn down the tunnel, Will starts to scream about how scared he was of fire.
