DigiPas USA LLC is a multinational technology company based in Avon, Connecticut that develops and manufactures security technologies and measuring equipment. Its affiliated offices are located in Japan, UK, Germany and Singapore.
History[edit]
The group company is founded and led by Jim Li since 1993[1] and have been in the business of research and development of planar-tilt Microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) precision levelling, 2D angular measurements and intelligent proximity access-gaining security technologies.
In 2009, DigiPas developed its first dual-axis precision digital level with a built-in vibrometer. In 2011, the company launched the dual-axis digital machinist level, a device for assisting with high precision levelling and planar angle measurement. In the subsequent year, the company further developed and launched a 2-axis inclinometer with an accuracy of 1 arcsecond. This product was first showcased at the Japan International Machine Tool Fair (JIMTOF) tradeshow in Japan in the same year.
Established in 2014, the company developed and marketed the eGeeTouch Near Field Communication (NFC) smart electronic locks and intelligent access security systems. The eGeeTouch Smart NFC Padlock was first introduced in August 2014 at the 50th Japan DIY Homecenter show.[2] In 2015, the Smart Luggage Lock was first showcased in the 2015 International Consumer Electronics Show[3][4] and named 8 most innovative products by Fox News.[5]
Instruments[edit]
DigiPas develops and manufactures digital levels and intelligent inclinometers to replace the use of traditional single-axis spirit levels.[6][7] The digital levels are able to provide levelling status (zero degree) and any numeric angular readings within 360 degrees.
eGeeTouch[edit]
The business division eGeeTouch develops and manufactures electronic locking devices ('smart locks') with proximity sensors.[8] The smart locks work by unlocking once an NFC enabled device (such as a smartphone), an NFC smart tag, fob, or sticker, set up by the users to gain access is detected by the lock in its proximity.[9] Users can open the lock without the use of keys or combination locks. Access records for the locks are made available through an Android app.[10] The locks are developed for the travel industry, complying with IATA, TSA, and ICAO regulations.[11][12][13]
