Digital Vidya, an IIT Delhi alumni startup based in New Delhi, India,[1] is one of India's largest digital marketing training companies.[2][3] The company trains Microsoft's and Google's partners in India, and also partners with the Indian government in support of the Vskills certification and testing program.

History[edit]

Digital Vidya was started in 2009 as a self-funded company by IIT-Delhi alumni and serial entrepreneurs Pradeep Chopra and Kapil Nakra.[4] The two had been working together since 2000, having realized the power of digital media through the sale of an earlier venture using search engine optimization (SEO). After giving friends informal digital marketing advice, they decided to create a formal training program, which became Digital Vidya.[1]

In 2015, Digital Vidya acquired Digital Academy India, a competitor founded in August 2012.[4]

As of January 2016, Digital Vidya had trained over 12,000 professionals and students across Asia[5] by conducting more than 700 digital marketing training programs.

In February 2016, the company launched a marketing helpline called Ask Digital Vidya, an online collaborative community designed to mentor and assist other digital entrepreneurs.[6]

Courses[edit]

The company's primary digital marketing course qualifies students as Certified Digital Marketing Masters (CDMM). The program is operated in conjunction with the Indian Government's Vskills certification and testing program.[7]

In 2015, the company began training entrepreneurs and product managers in growth hacking.[8] The company also offers various other certification courses in areas such as search marketing and social media marketing, and social media/digital marketing workshops.[1]

Clients[edit]

The company partnered with Microsoft India and Google to train their India-based resellers and partners to better sell their services, using digital marketing.[9][10] In additional to custom training programs targeting individuals, Digital Vidya has also conducted over 150 customized in-house digital marketing training programs for organizations such as GE, Philips, Dabur, Cisco, SAP, Pernod Ricard, Citibank, Intuit, Cognizant, EY, Sony, Times Internet, Viacom18 and Accenture.[10]
