Early Life

Karabo Mokgara was born on 13 March 1986 in Hammanskraal, a borough of Pretoria. He was raised by both parents. He spent most of his time around his fellow DJ's to observe and learn his trade. Karabo attended Mmamotse Primary School and later went to President Mangoepe Technical High School where he completed his 12th grade.

After some time of getting to know his way around the decks, he was introduced to the industry by DJ Knifeskido.

Career

DJ Karri is one of the most popular artist,consistent and professional in the heart of the capital city being Tshwane/Pretoria in South Africa. He dominated the industry with more than a decade of experience from different categories of entertainment business. Braveboy Music was founded by DJ Karri as a record label to assist young artists to perfect their skills with his experience in the industry. DJ Karri has introduced a lot of artists in the most entertaining city in South Africa called Pretoria. He started work at Carousel Casino in 2004 as their resident DJ. He later went to be a resident DJ at Pats Pub in Hammanskraal and while he was there he received a better opportunity at Chanel M night club which was the most popular club at that time. DJ Karri opened ainment market to a lot of influential artists like Black Coffee, Riky Rick, Mr Jazziq, Somizi today and still have a great relationship with them today.

Aside from being on the decks, Karri is also a producer which he started mastering in 2012 but it didn't go as planned at the time because he was discouraged at the time but he had to bounce back and get his single, 012 Lifestyle ft Prime de 1st, Kamo the vocalist and BL Zero introducing him to the world.

He released The Journey in 2020 ft BL Zero which did well on charts and radio stations in South Africa.

He later went on and released an EP, named I am Brave Boy which featured BL Zero, Violet Minis, Mantjingilane, K- Sugar and Pitso De Groove.

He was featured in SA RICH & FAMOUS Magazine about his new single named "012 Lifestyle"

Tzaneen Voice wrote about his excellence and help he gives to the youth in his community

His song made it to Afro Charts which was for 2021

For streaming the song, it was distributed by Dj Karri as an independent artist

Personal Life

He got his name "Karri" from his mother, Malebo, at a young age and from there, he started using the name on stage. He also gets his inspiration from his daughter, Kairo who is his biggest fan and always dances to his music.
