Dogs with Hats

Dogs are known as a man's best friend so why is it not commonplace for dogs to wear the same attire and protective clothing as men, specifically hats? Hats are worn by humans regularly to protect our eyes and faces from the sun's rays. If we claim to love our pups as much as we do, we should be extending this courtesy to them as well. We don't want their eyes to become damaged from the sun's UV rays. We want their vision to remain impeccable to allow them to lovingly gaze upon us with 20/20 vision.
