Kenny Scott Guffey is an independent filmmaker and writer who is primarily best known for the films Night of the Undead, which is a remake of the George Romero 1968 film Night of the Living Dead, and The Dark Room starring Diane Franklin.[1]

Guffey grew up in Columbia, Kentucky, and found employment at a local gas station before marrying young at the age of 22. When Guffey was 30 his daughter Delilah was born cleft affected, with bilateral cleft lip and palate. This inspired Guffey to pen the memoir For Delilah: An Unexpected Journey, and to launch a movie-based podcast, Beam Me Up.[2]

Through the podcast, Guffey met veteran actor Trevor Lissauer, who Guffey would go on to cite as his mentor in the entertainment industry. Beam Me Up allowed for more opportunities in the film industry to find their way to Guffey, and in late 2020, he met another filmmaker, Jake C. Young, who would go on to become his film partner. The two of them have worked alongside each other since their meeting and have shot several films together during their partnership including Night of the Undead, and The Dark Room.[3]
