Dominic McLaughlin (born 2013 or 2014)[1] is a Scottish[1][2] actor. In May 2025, he was confirmed to be cast as Harry Potter in HBO's upcoming Harry Potter television series.[3]

Biography

McLaughlin began his career training at Performance Academy Scotland around 2020.[1] He starred in a run of Macbeth at the Royal Highland Centre with Indira Varma and Ralph Fiennes.[1] McLaughlin has been cast in the comedy film Grow,[3][4] in which he will star alongside Nick Frost and Golda Rosheuvel.[5] He has also been cast in the BBC television adaptation of Marilyn Kaye's novel Gifted,[6][7] Both are scheduled to be released in 2025.[6][4] In May 2025, he was cast as Harry Potter in the upcoming Harry Potter television series to be broadcast on HBO;[3][6] he will star alongside Arabella Stanton and Alastair Stout as Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley respectively.[8][9] Filming for the show is expected to begin in the summer of 2025,[10] ahead of a release date in 2026.[3]
